Saudi Arabia’s current monarch is King Salman bin Abdulaziz.. He has been in office since 2015. Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy. This means that one ruler has complete authority and control over the country. A family-run monarchy has been in power since 1932 and supports the King ️ 🏢 1️⃣ 🇸🇦 .

He is advised by the Shura Council which is an advisory body that is made up of 30 members who are appointed by the King. This council is responsible for reviewing proposed laws before they are enacted and for making recommendations to the King on various issues 🔛.
The King is also advised by an advisory body known as the Council of Ministers . This council consists of the ministers of the government in addition to of representatives of the business sector 👔. This council is responsible for offering advice and counsel to the King and for helping to make decisions on a several several issues ️ 🔛.
The government of Saudi Arabia is a strong authoritarian government that has little tolerance for dissension or debate ️ 🇸🇦. Freedom of speech and assembly are not allowed in the country and anyone who criticizes the King or the government may face severe punishment.
Despite the tight restrictions on freedom of expression and the political system Saudi Arabia is an economically prosperous country and has been successful in establishing powerful diplomatic relations with other countries. In recent years the country has opened up to foreign investment and has seen an increase in trade 🆙. The country’s economy is largely built upon oil and gas production and it has become one of the world’s leading oil exporters.
