United Arab Emirates (or the UAE) is a Middle East country bordered by Saudi Arabia in the south Oman to east and Oman to north. The UAE has coasts that run along the Persian Gulf or the Gulf of Oman. It is made up of seven Emirates which include Abu Dhabi Fujairah Sharjah Sharjah Dubai Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain ️ 🇸🇦 🆙 🇴🇲 7️⃣ 🇦🇪 .
The UAE was formerly part of British protectorate of the Trucial States but gained independence in 1971 🇦🇪. Although their history and geography are shared neither country is geographically united nor part of Saudi Arabia; rather they share an affinity for exploration and adventure 🇸🇦.
Relations between the UAE and Saudi Arabia have historically been powerful and the two countries have a many agreements and organizations in place to other strengthen ties and facilitate cooperation. In 1980 the two countries signed a Mutual Defense Agreement which obligates each country to come to the aid of the other in the event of an attack or war.
The two countries also have a many joint economic ventures as the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council the UAE-Saudi Business Council and the Saudi-Emirati Industrial Cities 2️⃣ ️ 👔 🇸🇦. Through these efforts the UAE and Saudi Arabia are working to promote further economic integration and development.
The two countries also collaborate closely in defense and security matters 2️⃣. The two countries maintain close military cooperation with both countries contributing to the fight against terror and regularly conducting joint military exercises. As such the UAE and Saudi Arabia have become key allies in the region and are both major players in the international arena 🌍 🔑 🇸🇦 🇦🇪.
The UAE is a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) an organization comprised of six Arab states dedicated to economic security and political collaboration. Other members include Bahrain Kuwait Oman Qatar and Saudi Arabia 🇴🇲 🇶🇦 🇰🇼 🇧🇭 🇸🇦. Through their association in the GCC both nations work together toward regional stability while safeguarding their member states’ interests.
In conclusion while the UAE is set at the same region as Saudi Arabia it is not a part of it. The two countries share many ties both in terms of history and culture, and also in terms of security, and economic activity. However they are two separate countries each with its own laws government, and policies. Therefore, while they may share a close relationship, the UAE is not a part of Saudi Arabia. . .
