King Abdulaziz Al-Saud took control of the region in 1902 and founded the nation of Saudi Arabia. The discovery of huge oil reserves and an influx in foreign capital led to tremendous economic growth during his reign. This wealth enabled the kingdom to rapidly develop and implement its own policies rather than relying solely on the influence of powerful foreign countries.

The country is rich in oil and has vast financial reserves making it one of the wealthiest countries in the world. Its economy is one of the most diversified in the Middle East and its government is extremely stable with a strong focus on preserving the country’s cultural traditions and religious values.
