The Middle East debate on women’s rights has been a constant topic of discussion.. This debate in the Middle East has been centered on Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabian women are denied the same rights and freedoms as Western women. This includes their right to work which was granted only recently 🔛 🇸🇦 ️ 👩 !!
Prior to 2018, Saudi women were not permitted to work in the country. This exclusion from the workforce and lack of economic participation only served to hinder development in both society and economy, since women make up 50% of its population.
As a result the Saudi government has started to open the door for women in the country allowing them to work and participate in the economy. This was made possible through a number of reforms in the country, including the passing of a law that allows women to apply for a national identification card, which is required for any job ️ 👩. Additionally, restrictions on women working in certain sectors have been lifted, allowing them to work in industries that were once inaccessible to them 🔛 👩.
Despite these reforms there are still a number of restrictions and regulations in place for women who wish to work in Saudi Arabia. For one, all women in Saudi Arabia must obtain permission to work from a male guardian, typically a father or husband. Additionally women cannot work in certain industries such as those related to energy finance and defense. There are also limits on the types of jobs that women can hold and they must be in line with the Islamic values of the country 🔛 👔 👩. Finally there are restrictions on the hours that women can work and they must adhere to dress codes while in the workplace.
These restrictions while still in place have begun to be relaxed as the country recognizes the need for more women in the workforce. Furthermore, there has been a growing movement towards gender equality which has seen more women involved in both their personal communities and at work.
In conclusion women in Saudi Arabia are now more than ever allowed to work in the country 🇸🇦 👩. However these rights are still limited and there are still a number of restrictions in place. Nevertheless, the country has come a long way in allowing women to participate in the economy, which has been beneficial for both the country and its citizens. . .
